Artist: Fabled

Fabled is perhaps best described in his own words: “My own body of work surprises me. I had forfeited drawing for years and had no intention to return to it. Soon my pursuit for information, music and art led me to an artist to whom I credit all my work. In the absence of the self is where these images and thoughts began to arise. I feel no attachment to them; I can barely recognize them as something of my own doing. I continue to absorb the world I experience around me and produce imagery in a process I hardly can retain memory of or even begin to explain. I don’t remember how long it has been since I started drawing again, but for now I know that I can’t stop. It’s not striving to be better, it’s not the want for practice. I cannot tell myself to sit and practice how to draw this or that. But I can’t fight the need to pick up a pencil and scratch. People often tend to try and seek meaning in them; some even try to understand my state of mind. To them, all I have to say is that there is no such depth they are trying to find. What is, is.”
