Last-lines art inspired by Ferguson shooting
10 days after the shooting of the unarmed Black teen, Michael Brown in Ferguson,Missouri, and a torrent of racial discourse later, Shirin Barghi, an Iranian journalist and artist released a series of artworks inspired by the last lines of Black youth who were killed by police brutality.
In the tweet that accompanied the posting of these images, she writes: “Salam, friends. I created these images to raise awareness about racist police violence in America and as an expression of solidarity.”
