BE-NICE-AND-TELL-ME LICENSE Version 1.0r1, January 2008 This license applies basically to material one can see, hear or smell, if it's particularly relevant (i.e.: one-line quotes should be treated in other ways for obvious reasons). The main subject for this license are pictures and all of these shiny and fluffy thingies one can see on the Internets. RIGHTS 1 >> Freely re-use the material. 2 >> Freely modify the material. 3 >> Freely redistribute the material. DUES 1 >> TELL THE AUTHOR. ADDITIONAL CLAUSES WHAT YOU CAN'T DO You can BY NO MEANS freely re-use and redistribute the material if: 1 >> You're a member of any copiright mafia such as RIAA, SIAE or any other equivalent association in any other country. 2 >> You are a writer or editor of any written material released under strict copyright policy (e.g.: not allowing free (as in "free of charge" ) redistribution of the material, for scientific papers). 3 >> You are publishing the material for commercial purposes, unless the incomes are only related to the production itself of the product you are endorsing. If this is the case you still have to contact the author due to due #1. This means that if you are affiliated in any way with corporations like RIAA, MPAA, SIAE, or you are releasing anything in non-free licenses, you MUST contact the author BEFORE using the material (unlike what due #1 states). WHAT THE AUTHOR CAN DO The author is encouraged to revoke the rights in case of violation of one or more of the clauses #1, #2, and/or #3. FURTHER NOTES This is not something like "all rights reserved", it's a matter of being just nice to someone who put effort into producing anything, only to let him notice that somebody actually cared about the material. Moreover, this license, as a part of the whole concept of "being nice", doesn't imply that the author MUST be credited (i.e.: BY- field in Creative Commons Licenses), but it would be "nice" if this is done. This license doesn't explicitly prohibit commercial uses, which of course might be discussed as a consequence of regard towards the due #1. DISCLAIMER If the licensed material is by any mean illegal (examples include "artistic child porn", "snuff movie audio tracks", and so on) this is none of the license author's business which has no responsibility on such acts.
