Active participation in the Other Campaign
In June 2005, the EZLN makes public the Sixth Declaration of the Lacandon Jungle with which they call the social movement, indigenous peoples, organizations, collectives and individuality to overhaul the country (and world) according to the basics: from below, from left, against capitalism and participate in games without the electoral political class. Important in the construction of this route is also solidarity and mutual support (if they touch a one, affect us all). Another fundamental principle is respect for autonomy and the specific demands of each one. On this basis, life takes a broad national coordination that, in practice the daily Liberation, aims to develop a plan to deal with many voices (including those seldom heard as "other loves", the indigenous and women in general, children , the elderly). The name of this collective effort, horizontal and anti-systemic is "The Other Campaign". A stage to recognize each other, draw a horizon and take the path together. In the future, as a next step, we will determine a new trial.
For us, walking beside this social movement means to disseminate their own content, place and be actors/actresses whenever possible in Mexico or in international campaigns. But above all is to build spaces and struggles, here and now, according to the ethical and political values that the Zapatista teaches independence, self-management, denial of power, respect for differences and for Mother Earth. In the Other Campaign in Mexico, we support politically, economically when is possible, the political prisoners of the movement (the prisoners of Atenco case, the permanent garrisons for their release, prisoners of the community of Xanica and Oaxaca in general, accession to the Country "First of all our prisoners), we work constantly with a few independent radio stations and community initiatives and build regular expressions, we participate at the caravans in solidarity with the brigades of observation and health, and learn when possible, from living in the autonomous Zapatistas communities.
At the and we dream with our open eyes this utopia collective and global synthesized by the Zapatistas: a world that contains many worlds.
