SSL certificate installation on Mac OS X

We are going to assume that the CA certificate file has been downloaded in a file named ca.crt in the Downloads directory.

NOTE: your user must be an Administrator for the system you are using.

If you already have the old A/I CA installed (expiring on 9/2015), you will need to remove the old CA first by running this command in the Terminal (as explained below):

sudo security delete-certificate -c "Autistici/Inventati Certification Authority"

To install the new CA certificate, open Finder, go to Applications, Utilities and open Terminal, then run the following command:

sudo security add-trusted-cert -d -p ssl -k /Library/Keychains/System.keychain ~/Downloads/ca.crt

If you have mistakenly installed the new CA along the old one you can try this command to delete the old one:

sudo security -q delete-certificate -c "Autistici/Inventati Certification Authority" -Z D4A807240C26B6D79DAACCCA77BA3A27AE0CB535
