CONTRA EL TRABAJO
Parece que hoy día el trabajo, el dinero y el futuro son lo único que nos mueve, lo único en que pensamos, y nunca disfrutamos del presente y de la vida. Me explico.
¿Qué es trabajar? Pienso que es el tiempo vacío que uno pierde para asegurarse su futuro, es cuando uno hace y produce lo mismo de siempre (ya sea en una carnicería, en una oficina, de camarero, de ejecutivo,…), no por hacer la cosa en sí, si no por su futuro, o sea por el dinero que se consiga. Trabajando es imposible sentir ningún placer ya que lo que se hace no tiene ningún interés inmediato, es perder el presente sacrificándolo por el futuro y para el dinero. Espero que en esto el lector esté de acuerdo.
¿Qué no es trabajo entonces? Todo lo que se hace por la cosa en sí, por pasión, por placer, eso no es trabajo. Lo que muchos obsesionados del trabajo y del futuro llaman “perder el tiempo”, eso es no trabajar. Eso es disfrutar el tiempo, en vez de sacrificarlo para asegurarte el futuro. Futuro que por otra parte no llega nunca, de modo que nos pasamos toda la vida trabajando para tener dinero y futuro, pero como el futuro nunca llega pues perdemos nuestra vida. De pequeños estudiamos por el futuro, cuando curramos lo hacemos por el dinero, por el futuro, por conseguir subir un escalón mas en la sociedad y tener ese piso, ese coche, ese traje, esa TV de plasma. O por los hijos y su futuro. El caso es que nos empeñamos en luchar por un futuro que luego nunca disfrutamos.
Nuestra vida pasa sacrificada, convertida en trabajo, o sea en tiempo muerto que no disfrutamos, tiempo vacío. Por ejemplo también entiendo como trabajo el ir de compras. El gran progreso del imperio del capitalismo en estos años ha sido que el llamado tiempo libre se ha ido convirtiendo cada vez más en tiempo de trabajo. O sea, que en nuestro tiempo “libre”, hoy en día, uno hace cosas no porque hacerlas le satisfaga, sino que las hace por el futuro, y por lo tanto está, lo quiera reconocer o no, trabajando.
EDUCACION CONVERTIDA EN TRABAJO
Dice Agustín García Calvo que el poder ha conseguido poco a poco que el tiempo de ocio sea un tiempo de trabajo, o sea sin placer alguno. Por ejemplo ha convertido el aprender en trabajo. Se nos convence que aquello que estudiamos solo vale para el examen, para el curso, para seguir adelante y para encontrar un buen trabajo en el futuro. Hablo de una cosa tan placentera como es descubrir el mundo, aprender a leer, entender como es la naturaleza, algo que antiguamente la gente obrera si podía lo aprendía para su propio goce, como algo que enriquece por sí mismo y que te hace mas dueño de tu destino. Antiguamente al poder no le venía bien que la gente leyera, que fuera conociendo el mudo y como funciona, porque aprendían a razonar y a tener opinión propia, y podían leer otras ideas que no fueran las de la iglesia y el patrón. Antiguamente los obreros en los ateneos aprendían a leer, hacían sus escuelas propias, enseñaban valores como la igualdad,… Hoy día el poder ha conseguido darle la vuelta, haciendo que lo que antes era un goce, un enriquecimiento, ahora sea una pesadilla. Y lo han hecho convirtiéndolo en trabajo. Han convertido la educación, en algo obligatorio, que consiste en una simple acumulación de datos y de cifras, y el mejor alumno es el que obedece las normas y memoriza mas y mejor. Y hacen que aprender sea obligado, y en algo que no tiene valor de por sí, sino para la nota, para tener un buen trabajo, para el futuro. Pero nada de pensar por sí mismo, nada de aprender a razonar y a ser libre, sino todo lo contrario: se premia al obediente, al que no rechista, a quien es más obediente y memoriza mejor. Han convertido el aprendizaje en trabajo, y hoy en día ir a la escuela para los niños es lo mismo que ir a trabajar para los adultos: seis horas sentados y callados, trabajando (o sea haciendo algo no porque les guste sino por el “futuro”). El sistema educativo favorece a las personas que son más capaces de entregarse al trabajo, o sea, a memorizar un mogollón de cosas solo para el beneficio futuro (la nota, el curso, los padres, un trabajo mejor,…) Nuestras familias por supuesto muchas veces son unos enfermos del trabajo, y nos insisten constantemente en que tenemos que aprovechar el tiempo. Nos meten en todo tipo de cursos de inglés, taichi, clases particulares o lo que sea. Por el futuro, dicen. Y cuando ven jugar a un niño demasiado tiempo ya lo desaprueban. Está perdiendo el tiempo y eso no trae nada bueno.
EL CONSUMO
Otra manera de convertir el tiempo libre en tiempo de trabajo ha sido el consumo. Y lo ha conseguido por ejemplo haciendo que el adquirir cosas, que antiguamente servía solo para conseguirlas, por su utilidad posterior, ahora sea un fin en sí mismo. Ahora se va a comprar, no para tener algo que uno necesita, sino por comprar simplemente. Por supuesto para conseguir esto ha hecho falta la televisión, horas y horas de anuncios en los que se nos ha prometido e1 éxito y la felicidad consumiendo tal o cual producto, pero consumiendo. Nos hemos convertido en grandes acumuladores de cosas inútiles, y por supuesto no hacemos más que desechar los objetos que ya vemos viejos. No hay más que mirar en los contenedores: muebles, comida, muñecos, móviles, cajitas, pulseras, zapatos, y miles de cosas que apenas se han usado y que no han valido para nada, salvo para satisfacer nuestra necesidad de consumir.
No pienses, lector, que esto es una casualidad. El poder, el sistema, el capitalismo o como queramos llamarlo, ha favorecido todo esto por un motivo, que no es otro que crear trabajo. Si, trabajo, el círculo se cierra. Hay que crear puestos de trabajo a toda costa, y la única manera es crear necesidades inútiles. Hace ya muchos años que los capitalistas se dieron cuenta de que con la aparición de las máquinas y la industria no hacía falta trabajar apenas. Las máquinas han ido sustituyendo al hombre, y el poder no le ha quedado mas remedio que vender lo que sus fábricas producen a los obreros mismos.
Y hay gente que le sienta mal no trabajar, es lo triste. Ya no sabemos disfrutar de nuestro tiempo si no es para dedicarlo al futuro y al dinero. Uno cuando lleva un tiempo disfrutando con algo ya tiene una lucecilla que se le enciende y le dice, “oye ya estás perdiendo el tiempo, haz algo útil”. Es triste pero es así, estamos completamente adoctrinados en el trabajo que es la nueva religión, el nuevo mecanismo del poder.
Todo lo que aquí he escrito son ideas inspiradas en una charla de Agustín García Calvo, titulada “Contra el trabajo y el dinero”. Seguro que hay mucha gente que tiene cosas que decir de este tema. Se puede crear un debate en la página web del Ateneo.

ESCLAVITUD
Los hombres son esclavos de la Vida, y es una esclavitud que llena sus días con miseria y desesperación, e inunda sus noches con lágrimas y angustia.
Siete mil años han pasado desde el día de mi primer nacimiento, y desde aquel día he presenciado los esclavos de la vida, arrastrando sus pesados grilletes. He recorrido el Este y el Oeste de la Tierra, y he vagado a la luz y a la sombra de la Vida. He visto las procesiones de la civilización moviéndose de la luz hacia la oscuridad, y cada una fue arrastrada al infierno por almas humilladas, doblegadas bajo el yugo de la esclavitud. El poderoso es reprimido y sometido, y el fiel se arrodilla adorando a los ídolos. He seguido al hombre desde Babilonia hasta El Cairo, desde Ain Dour hasta Bagdad y he observado las huellas de sus cadenas sobre la arena. He escuchado los ecos tristes de los cambiantes siglos, repetidos por las praderas y los eternos valles.
He visitado templos y altares y entrado a palacios, y sentado ante los tronos. Y vi al aprendiz ser esclavo del artesano, y al artesano ser esclavo del emperador, y al empleador ser esclavo del soldado, y al soldado ser esclavo del gobernador, y al gobernador ser esclavo del rey, y al rey ser esclavo del sacerdote, y al sacerdote ser esclavo del ídolo… y el ídolo es nada más que tierra modelada por Satanás y erigida sobre una pila de cráneos.
Entré a las mansiones de los ricos, y visité las chozas de los pobres. Encontré al infante mamando del pecho de su madre la leche de la esclavitud, y a los niños aprendiendo sumisión con el alfabeto.
Acompañé a los siglos desde las riberas del Ganges hasta las costas del Eufrates; desde la desembocadura del Nilo hasta las planicies de Asiria; desde las arenas de Atenas hasta las iglesias de Roma; desde los suburbios de Constantinopla hasta los palacios de Alejandría… Sin embargo, vi a la esclavitud moverse sobre todo, en una gloriosa y majestuosa procesión de ignorancia. Vi a la gente sacrificando jóvenes y doncellas a los pies del ídolo, llamándolo el Rey; quemando incienso delante de su imagen, y llamándolo Profeta; arrodillándose y adorándolo, y llamándolo la Ley; peleando y muriendo por él, y llamándolo la Sombra de Dios sobre la tierra; destruyendo y demoliendo hogares e instituciones por su causa, y llamándolo Fraternidad; luchando y robando y trabajando por él y llamándolo Fortuna y Felicidad; matando por él, y llamándolo igualdad.
Posee varios nombres, pero una realidad. Tiene muchas apariencias, pero está hecho de un solo elemento. En verdad, es un mal eterno legado por cada generación a su sucesor.
Encontré la esclavitud ciega, que ata el presente de las personas al pasado de sus padres, y los incita a ceder a sus tradiciones y costumbres poniendo espíritus ancianos dentro de los nuevos cuerpos.
Encontré la esclavitud muda, que liga la vida de un hombre, a una esposa que aborrece, y coloca el cuerpo de una mujer en el lecho de un esposo odiado, desvitalizando ambas vidas espiritualmente.
Encontré la esclavitud sorda, que sofoca el alma y el corazón, dando al hombre sólo el eco vacío de una voz, y la lastimosa sombra de un cuerpo.
Encontré la esclavitud coja que pone el cuello del hombre bajo el dominio del tirano y somete cuerpos fuertes y mentes débiles a los hijos de la Codicia para ser usados como instrumento de su poder.
Encontré la esclavitud cruel, que desciende con el espíritu del infante desde el amplio firmamento hasta el hogar de la miseria; donde la Necesidad vive junto a la Ignorancia, y la Humillación reside al lado de la Desesperación. Y los niños crecen como miserables, y viven como criminales, y mueren como despreciados y rechazados seres inexistentes. Encontré la esclavitud sutil, que nombra a las cosas de otra manera… llamando inteligencia a la astucia, y vacío a la sabiduría, y debilidad a la ternura, y cobardía a un firme rechazo.
Encontré la esclavitud retorcida, que hace que la lengua de los débiles se mueva con miedo, y hable sin sentimiento, y ellos fingen estar meditando su súplica, pero son como sacos vacíos que hasta un niño puede doblar y colgar.
Encontré la esclavitud sumisa que induce a una nación a cumplir con las leyes y reglas de otra nación, y la sumisión es cada día mayor.
Encontré la esclavitud perpetua, que corona a los hijos de monarcas como reyes, sin ofrecer consideración al mérito. Encontré la esclavitud negra, que marca para siempre con vergüenza y desgracia a los hijos de los criminales.
Al contemplar la esclavitud, vemos que posee los viciosos poderes de continuación y contagio.
Cuando me cansé de seguir detrás de los disolutos siglos y me aburrí de observar procesiones de gente apedreada, caminé solitario por el Valle de la Sombra de la Vida, donde el pasado trata de esconderse detrás de las culpa, y el alma del futuro se repliega y descansa demasiado tiempo. Allí, al borde del Río de Sangre y Lágrimas que se arrastraba como una víbora ponzoñosa y se retorcía como los sueños de un criminal, escuché el asustado susurro del fantasma de esclavos, y contemplé la nada.
Cuando llegó la medianoche y los espíritus emergieron de sus escondites, vi a un cadavérico y agonizante espectro caer de rodillas, contemplando la luna. Me acerqué diciendo:
-¿Cuál es tu nombre?
-Mi nombre es Libertad -contestó esta espantosa sombra de un cadáver.
-¿Dónde están tus hijos? -le pregunté. Y la libertad, llorosa y débil, jadeó.
-Uno murió crucificado, otro murió loco, y el tercero todavía no ha nacido.
Se fue cojeando, hablando todavía, pero las lágrimas en mis ojos y los gritos de mi corazón no me impidieron ver ni oír.

Curioso texto.

Pero no siempre fue asi, es mas la humanidad ha vivido la mayor parte de su tiempo sin jerarquias y sin imposiciones, sino libre y cazadora recolectora, sin jefes y sin policias, ni carceles ni jueces ni antidisturbios ni reyes ni castas ni politicos ni banqueros ni empresarios ni pobres ni nada de eso.
Y el futuro… quien sabe! O la destruccion ecologica o la anarquia, son dos caminos posibles.
