Your main hard kick in your beats, basslines or 808's should really be in mono anyway to prevent any phase issues. DO NOT use the same master for vinyl that you would use for a CD or file download.. Vinyl, being a real analog medium, boosts the presence of the low end frequencies. It is best to utilize the services of a skilled mastering engineer that knows how to EQ a master specifically for a vinyl pressing. There are also issues with out-of-contol high frequencies as well. Also, less running time per side = better vinyl. In your case..who are you dealing with? A mastering engineer? The lacquer cutter? Duplication house? A little more info would be helpful. JUST REMEMBER: These dudes will take your money no matter how well prepared your material is or not for a vinyl pressing. (check their site, they also have a vinyl calculator http://www.flight13-duplication.com/) sorry for my bad english. Used them for Fred's 45 (with Blame One) too. Very satisfied with them. We used a serious mastering guy, at a professional mastering room, with the proper tools and experience. We were there when they mastered it too. They can do crazy work. All our SP1200 beats are mono recorded as one single track anyways, so this is not a huge problem for us Smile I always keep my kicks and bass mono on the MPC as well. _________________ SP-beat tapes at www.myspace.com/deckdaddy Messaggio Mar Ago 18, 2009 9:50 am Profilo Invia messaggio privato winz SpUser Registrato: 07/01/09 11:05 Messaggi: 58 Residenza: Germany Rispondi citando ...so you record everything at once on one mono track? the whole sum? or do you record track by track in mono and do the mixdown?
